…and an encore
We are thrilled that several musicians who delighted our audiences last year, together with others who are performing this year in Whittington are joining our Hon. Patron Steven Isserlis CBE in a concert to raise funds for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
The concert takes place at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 25th in St Peter’s Church, Belsize Park London NW3 4HJ. All proceeds will go equally to DEC and UNICEF.
Steven, who was to have been giving a concert in Odessa that day, will play Haydn’s Cello Concerto No1 in C major, and rising star Irène Duval will perform Mozart’s A major Violin Concerto, K219. The other delight on the programme is Mozart’s Symphony No 29 in A major, K201. The Whittington Festival Players are conducted by Andres Kaljuste, well known to Whittington audiences as a versatile violist and violinist.
This laudable event, which has had to be organised at short notice, has been added to the programme for this year’s festival and can be booked in the same way, price £18. A £1 booking fee applies for every ticket https://www.whittingtonmusicfestival.org.uk/booking-information/
So if you live in or near London, or know somebody who does, please spread the word.
