Wonderful playing – very beautiful, intense, meaningful, delightful. A sense of rapport between the players. With so much pain in the world, so much despair, anger and fear, this music gave me a feeling of well-being, shared humanity, and hope. Very grateful.

Just a quick note to say how much my wife and I enjoyed last night’s performance. My wife particularly liked the Schumann Piano Trio, but for my own part I felt the Brahms Piano Quintet alone made the ticket price worthwhile! The four young string players were, I thought, spectacularly impressive – I presume they had not played together before this Festival, so the rapport between them was remarkable. And they were obviously enjoying themselves as well as giving the audience pleasure.
The festival has a wonderfully warm, relaxed and informal feel, but the standard of music-making is superb and very professional. Congratulations to all concerned in the organisation- no doubt involving a lot of hard work, but much appreciated. The audiences seem to have grown both in size and enjoyment over the past few years – demonstrated by the full or almost full houses and the thunderous applause for the musicians and the occasional standing ovation!
Brilliant music. I have become a lover of classical music in a way that I never thought I would.
Despite the terrible weather on Thursday evening, as soon as we entered the packed church we felt an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and despite being only able to get tickets right at the back, we had an excellent view of the platform where the musicians were performing. We thoroughly enjoyed all the items in the concert and felt privileged to hear some pieces of music which are rarely performed. It was so heartening to see and hear young talented musicians played together with such evident, infectious enjoyment which lifted the spirits in these dark and gloomy times. Thank you to everyone for all the hard work putting together a festival of music to such high standard. We hope very much to return next year.
