Gareth is from South Wales and began playing the double bass at the age of fifteen, studying with Mary Condliffe of the WNO. In December 2009 joined the Philharmonia as a member of the double bass section having studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Roberto Carrillo-Garcia. Since then Gareth has been a guest with many of the UK’s Symphony and Opera orchestras and enjoys performing with a variety of smaller ensembles.
